winning and retaining the profitable customers that you need

Website Promotion

Website Promotion is defined by Wikipedia as the continuing process to promote a website to bring more visitors to the website. Many techniques such as web content development, search engine optimization (also known as SEO), and search engine submission, are used increase the traffic to a site. This is exactly what we do. There are many expressions around this business arena, and in our service descriptions we have tried to include them where it makes sense.

Website Promotion is increasingly popular for a reason: It becomes increasingly harder to win and keep customers with traditional Marketing methods - thus, the relatively new medium internet must close the gap.

In this famous book "Permission Marketing" Seth Godin describes the traditional approach of raising interest through one-off advertising campaigns as "cutting through the clutter" and as more and more difficult and expensive. The reason is simple: too many vendors of too many similar products all targeting a roughly constant number of people.  The effect: overcrowded mail boxes, overloaded minds and increasingly a lack of time.

If you want your message to be heard, still for once you need to cut through the clutter to gain your prospects' attention. But from then on you can use internet and email technology and methodology to teach your prospects about what you have to offer. And at some point your remaining prospects will decide to purchase your products or services. The only thing is: the prospects will decide when the time has come - you cannot force it.

That said, the Internet is the ideal medium to teach your prospects about what you have to offer until they will purchase. It is interactive and should be used that way. You don't just want to broadcast an advert like on TV. You want a response. Internet Marketing is all about that: to make a proposition, to get a response and to learn from it until proposition and response match.

Today, your prospects and clients will expect you to have a website. The question is what you want to achieve with it. Is it only to present your company, a call to further action such as a sales rep appointment, or is it a direct sale via the web? Internet Marketing Consulting might help here. Then, you need to bring your site to the top of the most  frequented search engines. For the search terms that your prospects will use when they are searching for your kind of products and services. This is called Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Maybe you consider advertising on the Search Engines to have a guaranteed place on the top - the so-called Pay Per Click (PPC).

For a couple of years there is a more sophisticated concept on the market: Social Networking, the so-called Web 2.0 technologies. More and more companies, organisations and associations run Social Networking websites that enable their registered members to communicate with each other.

In many cases, the activity itself is much more important than the "look and feel". For instance, you may have a website with a lot of Flash animations and your prospects can't see them on their computer, or, worse even, have technical problems with your website. Another example: you may get banner links from pretty websites but the search engines may not be able to read and to follow them - thus the links have no impact on your ranking.

The internet was created as an interactive medium, not as a one way broadcasting medium. Many text based links and ePR, forums and the like still work much better than pretty images - unless the latter are combined with relevant text links. At the end of the day it is your message which is most relevant for Website Promotion - and not the look.
